At the start of the summer I was commissioned to shoot the opening of Alexander's - an exciting new venture on Skipton high street.
The grand Edwardian-style kitchen, cocktail bar and terrace opened at the end of July, following a substantial renovation project on an 18th century grade two-listed building. Offering European 'small plate' cuisine, artisan beers and gins, cocktails and gelato.
This turned out to be a very varied and extensive shoot: from wide interiors, staged food and drink shots to 'action' shots from the bar and kitchen. You can tell a lot of effort and thought has gone into the project - there were so many little intricacies and textures to capture: from the art-deco table wear, tiled floors, blown-glass light fittings, to the bar staff uniforms, it was a photographers dream!
Huge thanks to Sian and Ben for getting me involved in such a great project, and thanks to Jess, Susannah and the rest of the team for accommodating me for a couple of days to get the shots we needed - It was great fun to photograph.
If you're ever passing through Skipton and need to whet your whistle, Alexander's is certainly worth a visit.
