I've had the pleasure of photographing some amazing bands over the past ten years. Few have carried such personal significance for me as Feeder, so to be able to photograph Grant and Taka touring their "Best Of" tour was a particularly special moment for me. Feeder were very much the soundtrack of my youth - they were the first band I ever saw live back in 2002, and have been a mainstay in my music collection ever since.
I've shot Feeder a bunch of times before, and they always treat us photographers well - often going beyond the three song allocation. As a huge Feeder fan, this is always something I appreciate! On this occasion, we were given a generous six song allocation to shoot, which was great! Even more so for me, given that the sixth song of the set was one of my favourite Feeder tracks - the iconic first-album hit "High".
Whilst the lighting for the show was a little tricky, Grant and Taka were still great value to shoot. The latter in particular was still throwing himself around like he was in his late 20s!
Would have loved to have stuck around for the full show, particularly as they played my favourite track "My Perfect Day" - a song I've not seen them play live since my first Feeder experience 16 years ago, but it was a great show to shoot all the same. Polythene and Echo Park have been on repeat an awful lot since!
