To mark the tenth anniversary of their debut album Take Off Your Colours, You Me At Six set out a nostalgic tour playing the album in full the British leg of which kicked off in Leeds.
It'd been a fair old while since I'd shot You Me At Six, but given I'd challenged myself to shoot more rock shows this one seemed a bit of a no-brainer. Plus my pals Marmozets were also down as main tour support so it was also a great opportunity to see those guys again.
As it happened, this show served as a stark reminder why I hate shooting Leeds Academy. The light is pretty much always awful, and the high stage and narrow pit mean that you often spend most of a show staring up peoples noses - if you can see them. This, combined with pretty much constant red light throughout meant this show was pretty much a write-off, sadly. There were a few moments of variation in light, but they were minimal.
Nevermind. You win some, you lose some :)
