Renowned as being the hardest working man in rock n roll, Frank Turner brought The Sleeping Souls to Leeds Arena in support of their latest album, 'Be More Kind', with one of my favourite bands - Jimmy Eat World - on the undercard as main support.
This was a much trickier show to shoot than my last visit to the First Direct Arena with The Wombats. I was on a strict three song allocation, and the photopit was a lot busier. Add to that the fairly limit angles, and it all meant I had to work a bit harder to get the shots I was after.
Can't complain, though - was a great show. Frank was on his usual great form, energetic as ever, running around the stage between verses. On a personal note, I was really please to hear so much Frightened Rabbit being played prior to him taking the stage. Frank and Scott were good friends, dueting a couple of times on a rendition of 'Modern Leper' as well as dedicating his own cover a few days after Scott passed away.
Special mention for Jimmy Eat World, too - it's rare that I get the chance to shoot them these days, and even though the light was a bit on the tricky side, it was still great to see them again.
