Seven years since releasing their last studio album, Snow Patrol headed to Leeds to debut Wildness - their seventh offering - and I popped along with my camera to take a few pics.
I'd only previously shot Snow Patrol once before and that occasion turned out to be a particularly good gig to shoot, with Gary heading into the crowd in the first song. I wasn't expecting quite the same luck at this show, but we were pretty fortunate with both the lighting, and the ever-chipper Gary Lightbody in great spirits, interacting with the crowd whenever he got the chance.
I was fortunate enough to catch 'Chocolate' from Final Straw in the first three songs, which was a pleasant surprise - particularly when there was only one other track from their breakthrough album on the setlist.
Closing thought - Final Straw is 16 years old. Jesus, I'm getting old. But hopefully they'll do an anniversary tour in four years. It'd be great to hear 'Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking' and 'How To Be Dead' live again.
