If I had to choose my "last gig to shoot for an absolute age as the world is falling to pieces", this would like be it. This was always going to be a special show for me to shoot.
Back when I started out as music photographer many, many years ago, The Subways were one of my first four "bucket list" bands. During the first few years of my career as a music photographer I had the pleasure of shooting a bunch of their shows, and they were always so much fun to shoot - none more so than their insane show at The Brudenell Social Club back in 2011.
Over the years, The Subways have been one of the most fun bands I've had the pleasure of shooting - there's so much to capture! Be it Billy's signature leap from the kick drum or throwing himself into the crowd, Charlotte's hair flying around, or Josh's ever-flailing arms behind the drumkit. It's almost impossible to come away without something awesome - and this show was no exception. Their debut may be 15 years old, but it was still delivered with the same frantic energy that set it apart when it was first released.
Cheers to Billy, Charlotte, Josh and Ben for having me along. I'm not sure when I'll next shoot a gig - I'm glad the last one for the foreseeable was so much fun!
