Managed to catch the Manchester date of the Visions of a Life tour - and it was a toughie!
Wolf Alice have had a stellar couple of years, to the point where they are very much flying the flag for British alternative rock - evidenced by the success of their second album, Visions of a Life. I'd had the pleasure of shooting these guys live a bunch of times before, but always in support of another act or on a festival stage rather than on their own tour. They've always put on a great show with heaps of energy, so I was holding out high hopes that this would be a special show to shoot.
The band were on top form - in particular guitarist Joff - but the lighting did make for a slightly challenging evening. That said, there were enough moments in the first three songs for me to get together a decent range of frames from the show.
Tricky lighting aside, it was great to see Wolf Alice again. It seems like nothing can stop them at the minute.
