Caught the second date of the UK tour - along with every other music photographer north of Stoke, it would seem.
This was a tough night - a fairly narrow pit made extra tricky with a somewhat busy list of over 20 photographers. I got down early to catch buzz-band Blossoms supporting who sounded great, but the ever-challenging Manchester Arena support lighting made it a bit of a wasted exercise.
Having caught The Libertines a couple of times last summer, I was hoping to use this show as an opportunity to get something a bit different. However the busy pit made spot-picking a luxury, so the show became more of a battle than an opportunity. On the plus side, I managed to avoid getting showered in Tuborg/piss, which is more that can be said for some of the other guys in the pit.
Given the tough shooting conditions, I was happy with the shots I came away with - I managed to get into the middle of the pit fairly early on to nail the shots of Pete and Carl, including the obligatory "sharing a mic" shot.
